Energy Action NW Participates in Jobs Rally

(Portland, OR: February 12, 2010) Energy Action Northwest participated in a rally on Wednesday at the State Capitol Building designed to galvanize legislative attention on job creation and economic recovery for Oregon. The event was organized and sponsored by the Oregon AFL-CIO and the Columbia-Pacific Building Trades Council. Energy Action NW is a business and labor coalition that advocates for sound energy policy, rational energy development and a strong, jobs-based economy.

The rally organizers called for action on a number of jobs-related measures now pending in the Oregon Legislature. EANW’s participation was focused on one of those measures, SB 1020, a bill that will correct a technical flaw in the process to apply for a state removal-fill permit that has slowed or stymied many “job rich” infrastructure projects... Energy Action NW Applauds FERC's 3-1 Decision in Favor of Jordan Cove

(Portland, OR: December 17, 2009) EANW today applauded FERC's decision to approve the siting application of the Jordan Cove Energy project, an LNG receiving terminal proposed for Coos Bay, Oregon. This action brings the project one step closer to eventual construction and operation, although a number of additional regulatory and environmental approvals are still pending.

 

Energy Action Northwest Files Formal Complaint with the IRS against Columbia RiverKeeper; Requests Investigation into Political Activities Prohibited by Law

(Portland, OR: December 1, 2009) Energy Action Northwest today filed a complaint with the Internal Revenue Service against Columbia RiverKeeper (CRK). The letter requests the IRS to investigate CRK's political activities to determine whether CRK may continue to operate as a tax-exempt organization.
